Invasion of Privacy?

Filed under: Uncategorized — randyinman @ 10:44 pm

I am one ticked off person right now. Here’s the deal. I have a 16 year old son in a special high school/college. He takes advanced HS classes and some college classes. When he graduates at age 18 he will have a Associates degree.  He was given homework and a disk to do the homework with. The disk installed a keylogger program on my computer. I can’t take it off without a password.  I have not tried to uninstall it with the remove progams option yet but I will. I do not think they should be able to do this. Number one it’s an invasion of MY privacy if it’s logging my typing. I did just find out my spyware sniffer is blocking it so I guess I am ok.  I think they do have the right to install it on school computers, but not on somebody’s home computer.  Am I wrong?

  1. No I don’t think you are wrong. I wouldn’t be pleased to have it put on my PC without my permission being given.

  2. Believe me, I would be highly ticked off to have this happen. In fact, I’d be ranting to the school. There are too many other places to pick up spyware without having to worry about it being sent home from school with the kids.
